GLORY GLORY !
CONTEXT
ACT ONE - THE APPROACH
EXT. HAZARD CANYON, MONTANA DE ORO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, MORNING.
The unnamed WOMAN stands on the beach, staring out at the dispersing fog as the sun begins to rise, and very slowly warms up the sand and the water, although it still remains rather cold.
As the tides move back and forth, the woman slowly moves into the water, but only keeping a small part of her legs wet.
She begins to sway and flow with the elements around her - wind and water. Listening to these elements within her, she continues this flow via improv of modern dance.
Through this improv, the woman sees what the earth has to provide for her. Yet, due to consumerism and inevitable human destruction that we encounter on this planet, the earth is now faced with a new element, an artificial system - in this case, a survival (emergency) blanket.
The woman holds tight onto the survival (emergency) blanket. She moves through the space dancing and interacting with the light breeze and the artificial system. The artificial system also interacts with the breeze. The blanket tries to encompass her as well as any of the elements around.
A heavy red smoke is released into the air. The toxicity of it tangles with the environment, as well as with the woman. She used the survival (emergency) blanket to attempt to contain the smoke and protect the environment around. However, she is unsuccessful. The human impact on the earth is too much to be pulled back in, too much to be stabilized. There is only so much the woman can do by herself.
The smoke encompasses the entire scene leaving the audience to wonder what is to come of the woman, what is to come of the earth.
